Trouble Starting up

I just had an engine swap a month ago. from the first time I started it up it reved high and died same thing happened at the second startup. Then it hard to start back up, acts as if it is flooded. Those first two starts taught me to give it some gas during start up. I'm having to rev the car up to 1500 to 2000 rpm for a good five minutes. If I don't it will die. It just won't start up and stay running as it should. Is this a vacume leak? Also during the first ten minutes of driving the car it seems to choke up (bogg Down) in the low rpm's as I enter into a different gear, but once its warm that part goes away. No matter how warmed up the car is it still has to be baby sat during start up. Any Ideas?

Idle air control valve would be my guess. It's just a guess. I had a car that would do that until it was warm. Sounds like the car isn't fast-idling when cold.

Of course you should do all tune-up stuff, and replace any old or cracked vacuum lines. That stuff improved my idle a lot.

Yeah, now that I think about it the vacuum lines should be good. The dealer did the work and if they saw anything like that I know that it was replaced. They rewired my ac for the heck of it because it was wired wrong and had some melted spots on the wiring. Thanks for the info and I'll check in on the air valve.
