Good wheel size for b13

is 16x7.5 too big for a b13 se-r? i looked on tire rack and it was one of the available sizes, but i doubt they test every size on every car he he

When I got my 94 se-r the other owner had put that exact size on the car. I hit a pot hole and flattened a spot on one of them( after 5k on new tires ) and got some oem wheels for it. I could tell the difference. The 14's ride much better. What I plan on doing down the road is getting the B14 se-r wheels. To me 15 inch is as big as I would go. That is a good balance of wheel and tire for the road. Look into the B14 wheels.

There are reams of reasons in the archives why light 15's are a perfect wheel for our cars. B13s have clearance problems in the back with the strut. Maybe someone could step in to say why a 16x7.5" wheel wouldn't be a headache, but I'd avoid.

15x6.5" with a 195/50-15 tire is a cheap and effective upgrade.

If you're turned on by more width, 15x7" with a 205/50-15 tire fits, but look for an offset below +40mm. Mid to high +30's is a safe offset with most tires.

IIRC Jim Shumacher's VE classic ran 16x7.5, but he got them to clear a really big set of brakes. Jacen99SEL (sp?) could tell us more exactly, he's the current owner of that car.

I'd go with 15, 6.5 or 7 wide. Jim hit the nail right on the head about the offset. 16s will fit, but the consensus seems to be that the ride quality starts to go down with the shorter sidewall you'd need to run.

I recommend 17's, i got 17 x 7.5 and they fit fine, and there are some others with 18's.

17 looks really cool, but if you go that big I think its a good idea to put a few extra bux and really get quality rims/tires.

I got 15" B14 SE-R wheels with some 205/50/15 all season Toyo Proxes. Very nice, but they just clear in the back. They are also kinda mundane, but most non-SE-R people think I was so smart to do this.

I run 205/40/17 anything bigger than that looks like sh*t IMHO, takes away from the rim size.

Anything bigger than 16" makes an SE-R look like a cartoon. I'd go 15s. LOTS of good, inexpensive tire choices. 195/50/15 is the correct rolling diameter, but I use 205s without an issue. Looks *just right* on a B13.

i also have a set of b14 se-r wheels on azenis i use also and i like the way those look too, its all preference

15's aren;t eye catching, they just look like stock type rims and on a lowered classic they even look to small.
