It's ridiculous how we have very little interest on these pieces. If I had a NX, I'd own at least one of these. There were like 100 pages on the thread and where's everyone at?

Thats how it always is with everything man. Im used to it.

You say, "Hey, who would be interested in product X"

Everyone and their mom says they want one....then when it comes time to pay, you hear crickets or every excuse under the sun.

I figured that would happen, so thats why I took care of the people who I knew were serious first. All the rest will sell off in due time. I figure once people get their tax returns back and a lil more money in their pockets they may get interested again...Im gald I only made 15 and not 20 lol

Like I said, when we were talking before, if you had 1 when I come to pick up the NX, Id take one

and I bet you doing payments for some people would help them out...might take them a while to pay it off, but the option is always nice.

I have a question about the lexan you used,,, does it have a hard coat on either side (inside or outside)

reason I'm asking is if it does have a hard coat then a polycarbonate film with adhesive(tint)(Mylar) can be applied to the surface ,if it does not have a hard coat you can't put nothing on it at all i fact Must be very careful when cleaning it,, (NO paper towels or abrasive chemical's either)No glass cleaners, alcohol based products at all... Scratches will be very easy to accure! during simple wiping or cleaning.

just asking... VERY interested in one for myself ,, but I'm not going float with no Tint on my ride especially here in Fl so I'll have to decide if the trade off is worth it, (too me) ,, Yes the weight reduction is definitely kick ass!

VERY nice job!

probably the single best cosmetic modification for the NX by far!!!

Hey Larry,

The windows can be tinted.

In fact we were even gonna offer tinting service but it wouldve been too much trouble.

I will be tinting mine as well.

LMK if youre interested.

Noooooooooooooo ,,, and Yes ... but Nooooooooooooo .......

problem with the installing a Mylar to that polycarbonate sheet is the chemical reaction that will accure...

first thing that will happen (will take about a yr max) it will start to fog up and look blurry... thats what happens to lexan when you put an adhesive bonding type agent to the surface.

but thats not the biggest problem ,, if you try and remove the film off the sheet it will pull the coating off at the same time

I'm in NO WAY tryin to discourage any potental buyers in ANYWAY by talking about this in your thread but it is and still a concern of mine if and when I purchase one for my Nx.

I went through this when I was working in Nascar and experienced it first hand with one of my Craftsman truck teams, they changed there supplier during mid-season of racing and after they come back from one race we would go in and remove all the tearoffs from the lexan windshield and replace it with New and Fresh tearoffs for the next race.. and this was my job everyweek for 36 races a year with over 65 cup/nationwide/craftsman series vehicles per week for my company between two installers..

they where the only ones to change in mid season like that and the only ones that had a problem.....

it would literally pull to surface up causing it to be trashed and unable to use for another race... problem was the lexan did not had a hard coat...

tell ya what if you want to know and see this try it.... get a small peice of access that is going to be throwed away and put some tint on the inside where the film would be anyway,, let if dry fully (about 10 days or less) and remove the film and see what it does to the lexan.. if nothing COOL, that mean you have the right hard coat,,, if it pulls the surface then you'll know that the hard coat is not there!

again I'm SO very interested but like I said it's going to be a trade off for me personally...

I'm interested in your results....

Tell you what. I will talk to the manufacturer sometime this week and try to get some resolution on this. Personally I dont care that much for the tint either way, but I understand and respect your concern and since you have had certain experiences that support your concern, I moreso appreciate it.

I'll get some more info and try to get accurate closure on this. Worse case you could make some kind of see-thruogh sunshade for those bright days lol.

I hope you purhase one either way. Theres only 5 or 6 left

thanks,,

and Yes I want one... tint is not the most important thing here! the weight reduction is.. if I can have both and eat my Ice cream at the same time that would be Grand!..

again thanks for understanding and I'm sure when you ask the manufacture about the coating we will know what I can do...

I wouldn't even care if my Nx was just for the track or race day,,, but since it's my daily driver ,, I need my tint,.,.

yeah I hear ya. Usually parts like these tend to favor those who put them on their project/race/weekend cars as opposed to those which are daily driven....I'll let you know as soon as I have some concise info.

Ok ,, I slept on it last night..

as for finding out about the type of hard coat on the sheet,, I won't take the chance on it anyway. no matter what the manufacture says I pretty dang sure there's going to be a problem during removal of the PS adhesive .... Sooooooooo I won't be tinting it because this is something I've dealt with and seen what happens way to many time's... besides it's too Nice to mess up,,

I've decided I want one b/c my hard top will be the recipient at this point also it's such a nice upgrade it would be silly to pass it up.....

let me see what I can do before they get gone ,, I'll be in touch with you real soon!
