10s, stock bottom end?

This question is targeted to all det motor, not de+t. I am also talkin about running your car on slicks... so please spare me the "where will you go"

Anybody hit 10s on the stock bottom end? I mean I know sr20turbofreak was putting down some crazy numbers on an unopned gtir motor.

If the stock bottom end can handle 450-475whp why dont we have people running 10s on some slicks with these great motors.

The guys on the honda tech forums are running 10.5 - 10.7 with about 430-440whp in eg/ek hatches street trim . Granted they are little bit lighter but dont you think having an extra 35-40whp would make it up.

well not really...*** there's only so much grip you can get. so 30hp or 40 hp isn't gonna cover the difference. wiht hp..your picking up time at the other end of the track. with weight your most likely picking up time in the first 1/8. you would prolly need a good bit more hp than that to make up a significant difference on the fast end of a track

Fred went 10.9 with less than 500whp. It can be done, but alot of people just make their numbers and don't care to put real life drag numbers down, even if they are into drag racing. I hate dyno queens.

Rockwood could have a chance, if he ran on slicks. He trapped at something like 127 or 129? Stock DE!

Simple, Most high power se-r owners don't go to the track or they are not equiped for the 1/4 mile.

My turbo street car will be hitting the track regularly. I've got slicks and skinnies Jrod (NX$paniard) isn't afraid of drag racing his crazy street car either (if he ever gets back from the Navy)

129.8, IIRC

That car can do rolling burnouts at like 90mph

10s on the stock block is not a big deal at all, I think by the time most people get to that point they want the security of a built block though. I personally dont care, I will just swap out my longblock for a JDM DE if it blows, and boost it again.

The bottom end should be the last of your worries abouting blowing. The tranny on the other hand, if you are making power to get into the 10's, you better have a B15/P11 tranny. Many guys have potential to be in the 10's but nobody goes out to the track. It makes you wonder, a lot of guys here build the hell out of their cars but they are never on the track? That must mean they have that power for the street.

I think its really driver related, many people slam gears and sometimes grind them. If your gentle I would think it will be good to you But I cant speak from personal experience.
