B15 is the current generation of Sentra platform. Specifically, this thread refers to the B15s equipped with the QG engine ('00-present XE, GXE, 1.8S) and SR engine ('00-01 SE). The other B15s with QR engines ('02+ SE-R, SE-R Spec-V) use a totally different transmission family, which has limited applications in B13s ('91-94 "Classic" and NX2000) and B14s ('95-99 Sentra, 200SX), due to space constraints and lack of a factory-equipped, hydraulically-operated clutch in those platforms. The RS5F70A/V transmission was not available in any other car in the US except for the '00-02 P11 (Infiniti G20).

Actually, he stripped the spline on the clutch disc. The tranny AFAIK is still perfectly functional.

A B15 is a 2000 - 2006 Nissan . The 2000-2001 Sentra SE had the 2.0L SR20DE motor w/ roller rockers and 1/2 the counter-weights on the crankshaft. It had 145 HP also.

thanks for the info.
I am from the dark continent and we have'nt seen a Sentra since 99 or so.I think its a B14.
Busy building a DET motor with some very nice groceries hoping for 300+kw wheels plus a healthy shot of Nos.
We have allready fitted a LSD cable box I think its a P11.
How do they cope with that kind of power?

Does the B15 gearbox have a different part number to the B14 gearbox?

Yes it does but Ido not even remember the Part # for the B13 tranny!!!

Still, the MODEL # for B13/B14 was RS5F32V (with VLSD) or RS5F32A (open diff).

Likewise, the infamous B15/late P11 trannies are RS5F70V and RS5F70A.

That's a different B15 transmission. The '02+ SE-Rs (QR25 engine) use the same transmissions found in Altimas and Maximas. The topic of this conversation is the '00-01 Sentra and '00-02 G20 (SR20 or QG18 engine) transmission, which are pretty much unique in the Nissan family.

I have not destroyed a B15/P11 gearset. I have however broken a synchro Hub slider ring, and I have stripped the clutch splines on 3 clutch disks with my last motor. I have not boosted all that power on the track( road racing) but on the drag strip without slicks seems to hold ok.

What kind of clutch have you been using? Considered having the clutch disk cryotreated to hold up?

Can the gears on the RS5F70A input shaft be removed & replaced because I know that the gears on the RS5F32A can not be removed.

All I know is in order to get it to fit a GTi-R motor you have to Mod the axles or the brackets to make it all work.

Search... the details of how to do this have been posted a few times

furthermore, this thread is in the technical library, a place to supply you with information... not for you to come in here asking questions that I KNOW that you have not searched on. If you still have questions after searching, start a new thread in the appropriate section...

*Edit* - Damn, in this same section is a large thread on how to install a B15 tranny in a B13, how hard did you look again
