Hey GregV, or anybody for that matter. I'm just getting near the end of finishing this exact swap. Got everything I need, Trans rebuilt, all that jazz. I was measuring up the flywheel into the Trans bell housing the other day and noticed the input shaft doesn't line up with the center of the BH. I just figured that maybe it's cause I was holding it and everything would be fine when I put it all together. Then I found on another sight with pics, (can't remember who it was or where it was) and saw that the person had cut out a hole in the BH for the flywheel. I have an S15 flywheel and was wondering if I could have any confirmation or input on this.
Other things I did and didn't see in forums:
Spacer plate between Trans and Engine; modified to ensure debris could not get into BH.
I had purchased a SpecV slave cylinder and it does not work with P12 BH. Need P12 Slave cylinder. Ordered from Mazworx. (This may have been stated in forum. Can't remember)
Another question. I had ordered a SpecV clutch kit for this swap as that is what the forum had stated early on. I then saw some posts about other clutches. Yes or No: Will this clutch kit work?
Thanks to anyone in advance for answering my questions.
A few more things:
I am doing this on a PP B15. Although you don't need spindles for the swap, you do need SpecV hubs, (not stated on first page) which will go into factory spindles, for the larger diameter axles.
While I was this deep in the suspension, I got:
New balljoints, tie-rod ends, and wheel bearings. Probably a good idea while you have it all apart considering these cars are fairly old.
