not to get off subject, but will larger diameter tires affect dyno reading like the smaller dia. tires and higher redline make the top speed per gear increase so dramatic..

These trannies are cheap. There's 5 about 30 minutes from here for $370.

you can swap the finals. I'd love to put a 4.429 final in the 04+ transmission. that would be the sh*t.

the 02-03 trannys i have found a lot of od info about them and i personally would rather stick to the 04+ as all the info i find is conclusive and not misconstrued

They will not become scarce.

B15 Spec V trannys 2002-2006
B15 Spec V motors cant even stay together to long

B15 SE tranny 00-01
B15 SE most where not LSD

Most people are not going to do this mod because it is diffcult. B15 00-01 tranny change is easy.

thanks for the info andreas! Now I have a reason to keep my '02 tranny if/when I swap engines and trannies into my b15

Speaking of, would the maxima trans be better or worse for a turbo or N/A sr20.

The maxima and spec V trans casing are the same (different bell housings, but *** tdoesn't matter anyway since we'll need a primera bell housing) but the gear ratios are different.

Yea but not all maxima's come with LSD I thought. Also, how can you tell if it does on the Maxima's? Is there a hump on the driver side? I have one lying around in my garage if anyone wants pics.

This will give away what I had been researching until the twins came along and scuppered my spending plans:

As I know it will not line up for everyones computer I have done it in comma seperated values, cut n paste into a text doc and import into excel:

,,,,,,,,,Final Drive
Car from:,Gear Ratio:,1st,2nd,3rd,4th,5th,6th,Reverse,Ratio
VQ35 RS6F51A,6 M/T,3.154,1.944,1.392,1.055,0.809,0.630,3.002,3.813

different final ratios in use:
3.813 VQ35 2002
4.133 VQ35 QR25 in Altima
4.440 SR20VE/SR16VE-N1
4.428 Hyundai Tiberon
4.529 Celica GT-S
4.700 SR20VE spec-V

Enjoy,

Regards,

Mike

What would this cost at a reputable shop? This would be waaaaaay beyond my capabilities, as would the B15 tranny swap.

I'll be damned if I will ever buy or rebuild (don't ask the price....pre-forum) another B13 or B14 (supposedly "fixed") tranny.

I am never going to sell my Classic. If it ever has another tranny die, it will be upgraded to a much better tranny.

What's the going rate on you doing a B15/P11 tranny swap?

What's the going rate on you doing this QR B15 6-speed swap?

You source all the parts, you do the labor.

Thanks!

Oh yeah.....STICKY this thread is my vote.

well some people may want to consider the other greaboxes made by aichi with the same case as the altima/maxima/spec-V, it only takes 5 mins max to delete the lines they dont want.

I can get rid of it all if you prefer.

This is the part I dont understand. Why is it that we just cant keep it on subject. This is about putting a 6 speed gear box into our cars.

*** Maxima and Altima are the gearratio we dont have listed, so II just asked for someone to put up those gear ratios.

So just please put up the Maxima and Altima and get rid of the mess. Why would I want you to get rid of it all, all I said was to get rid of the mess and post Maxima and Altima

Well the way I saw it was we were interested in a 6spd aichi box that mated to the SR20 engine in all its guises.
