If you are NA use the 02-03 Spec V tranny.
If you have Turbo use the 04-06 Spec V tranny.
If you have a P11 car this is a very easy install. I dont even need to give instructions
If you have a P10 it is also easy but you wll have to put the Spec V clutch pedal in and convert to hydralic. You will also have to make an engine mount for the tranny passenger side.
B13 and B14s are a little harder.
You will need to convert to hydralic and also convert the B15 spindals from 4x114 to 4x100. There are many ways to do this, One way is to punch out the bolts, weld the holes shut and have the new holes drilled for 4x100. You should also be able to punch out the bolts and just redrill new holes making the hub a 8 hole patern with 4x100 and 4x114.
I have never tried this part but you might be ableto press out the center from the B15 and press it into the B13-B14. I havenot tried this so I dont know but should work.
On the B13 and B14s you will also need to trim a pc off of the cradle. This trimming will nee to be about 1.5inch deep and 3 inch long. This can be done by lining up the stock trany in the car then measurig the diffrence of the 6 speed tranny. Once done take tanny out cut and weld back in suport pc.
Anyway all said and done an easy install.
What are the benifits of this install?
1. Way stronger transmission.
2. Much better fuel milage on the highway.
3. Much better clutch selections 240mm and 250mm (215 for or cars)
4. Less chance of thrust bearing failure because of less clamping force by clutch
You said the 02-03 spec tranny has different gearing from the 04-06 spec tranny. I would think that would denote a different transmission code, I could be wrong but there does seem to be two different codes.
When I was looking through the FSM to find the transmission code they listed those codes for those years for the SE-R Spec-V. So if someone were to order a transmission online or over the phone they could specifically ask for the code in case the transmission is not in the car. 02-03 did have an SE-R NON Spec-V with a manual transmission with a different code. I just want to make sure it was clarified so no one bought the wrong transmission
