No, you are not running an OBDII ECU anymore if you use the adapter.

Hey Crag,
Would I need this for my swap from a 98 b14 sr20 to a JDM Roller Rocker Lowport (primera I think)?

I think that if I switch my intake manifold I won't need it, but I am getting mixed signals from different sources. :sigh:

OK, I just sent you a PM before I read this. If you are swapping an RR motor in a 98 then the answer is no, you do not need an adapter.

So if i get an ECU out of a b13... and buy your harness... then I can convert my B14 to OBD1? I just wanted to ask that question, to make it totally clear.

So if someone converts from OBDII to OBDI then when you go to pass emissions everything works ok with the readings from the diagnostic port?

That isn't my concern, with obdII from my knowledge they have to be able to plug into the diagnostics port and actually clear everything through the ecu.
