Megasquirt is a DO IT YOURSELF stand alone system, it allows you in a begining control all your fuel, but with upgrades it could control ignition maps too. There is a code variant, that allows you to do all the major things that the expensive Stand alone systems claims, like Traction controller, Anti Lag systems, Launch Control, Water/Alcohol Injection, etc.. You can use megasquirt I with ms extra to control ignition and get all the capabilities or just Megasquirt II to control ignition and fuel only.

Also i already use it in a GA16DE engine. You need to read, isn't so hard as many thinks, you just need to read and do it. MS works fine with stock Dizzy Optical, it needs a few modifications to run with the optical sensor. (

All nissan 360º - 4 dizzy optical will work with this configuration, you will need to locate the 4 window signal cable (G/B for the example, but isn't always the same colour)
