AEM Users

Ok here it is finally SR crowed getting in to standalone..

I am using mine for boost control, coil on plug, map, it is great I can use it for anything it also has made it so I can remove more then 50% of my wiring make for a cleaner engine bay and most importantly no more harness getting in the way of taking it apart in very little time.

Now as for problems I have had the AEM doesn't like the 360degree wheel you can how ever get a 24 1 wheel and set it up for a cleaner signal. now to make it harder I have never found a 52mm wheel that is a 24 1 tooth RWD use a 50mm wheel and that can be found very easy. there are a few Dissy that are in FWD that use the 50mm wheel but I am not sure which ones they are...

Lets get a roll call Of AEM users..

Dont mind the dust this was an early stage of the build

We have the same problem with the CAS disc using VEMS. Most of our cars have the 54 mm disc, and the discs they provide are 50 mm and fit one specific FWD distributor. I was lucky to find one, but I don't know what car it's out of either. =/

MAP sensors are so much more fun than MAFs =]

Yes they are much better tuning with a MAP as for the 50mm dissy if ou find out what car it was off please let us know. I was told that the VE use a 50mm wheel but it has never been comfirmed... ( anyone want to check there VE dissy?

Hey, what COPs are you using? I'm curious what options we have out there. I've got Honda CRB 600 COPs. Also, with the AEM unit, is it necessary to go to COPs like it is with VEMS, or can you use the distributor if you want/have to?

you can use the Dissy if you want it is a full plug and play I have the CBR but I think I am changing to MSD and using wires instead of the COP I have a few G20 Dissy's and all are 54mm I will see what I can do about finding what one it is

its not that I don't like the idea of pulling them off time and time again. I think I would much rather replace a spark plug wire then a coil.

97se-rblown, you should be able to use the AEM or VEMS 50 mm CAS disc. You just need to source a newer distributor.

I run the AEM box on my 93 NX and on my 99 SE-L. I run stock distributor on both!

Just programming my new AEM this week. It came with the dizzy wheel I needed and a GM MAF sensor, Cobra MAF, the G-35 MAF to choose from.
I need the basic map to start with and a bit of advice on where to start so I can keep within running range as I bolt up some parts.

I'm guessing it's easier to start with the base map and then program as I bolt on the turbo. Any suggestions as to the best route to add mods and tweak as I go?

I'm interested in wiring up a Crane ignition system and coil.
What are my options to reduce wiring within the engine bay?
Your suggestions would be appreciated. Pics would be nice, too.

Still waiting on my injector wires to get here coach. How's it coming?

I may be able to help with custom wheels.

Let me know if you have a specific size and measurements for the cut-outs and I'll price them. I can access a laser cutter.

I have CAD capabilities, so if there is no blue print made, I can make one for you and send them the design to burn a few to try out.

Where the hell were you 3 months ago when I needed a disc?

(Don't answer that. I wasn't on the forum 3 months ago.)
