What can go when I put the AEM in...

I am going to go AEM on my drag car and was wondering what is everyone else removed from there engine bay, as in wiring. I just want to clean up the engine bay and get what I don't need out.

Thanks
Matt

As far as I know, if it's not a sensor wire, or output (like injector or ignition) it can go. Obviously, you might want to keep stuff like lights, etc. but you should be able to remove some decent clutter. This is a B14? You should be able to remove the EGR stuff, as well as all of the OBDII crap. I'm not really familiar with the B14, and I kept my stock harness when I went stand-alone, so I'm not sure what exactly you'll be able to lose other than the MAF, EGR, etc.

If you're doing AEM, you're probably re-using your harness as well. If you want to remove things, you're going to want to get very familiar with the wiring harness.

YOu can remove ALL non essential wiring and sensors for your application. How much is all up to you. I removed my OEM O2 sensor, since I was running the UEGO EMS. I removed P/S high idle switch, all a/c switches, factory boost solenoid and alot of wire to shorten things up and tuck my harness.

Basically all you need is the knock,MAP, IAT, Coolent temp sensor, Boost solenoid, CAS/Dizzy etc all electrical ignition and injector stuff.

Kinda a vague but it really depends what you want. Just for track or street too.

The balls out way is to only pin the dedicated stuff onto the factory plug, then add the extras as needed, fan control, fuel pump. Basically making a custom harnedd with the factory plug.

I kept IAT and IACV along with what FRO listed there. Fuel pump on the main ECU harness is off a seperate plug under the dash and goes back to the ecu, so that isn't in the engine bay. The fan control is the same, goes off different harness under dash (jsut off ecu harness) and runs to the fan relay. Everything else can go. The oil temp senders feed the gauge cluster directly so you should keep that, but really if you run aftermarket oil pressure gauge then you don't need the stock sender.
