What to do about calum ecu (chips)

Ok..My car is done other than the ecu.I started out with MSD 780cc injectors and now im using RC 550cc injectors. My Calum ecu is chipped for the 780's.I contacted Calum and sent him money to burn me chips for the 550's.Its been a month and they still haven't showed up and he doesnt return my emails. My question is how will my car run with the ecu like it is.And is there anybody out there that has the chips I need or is willing to burn me some.I dont care to have the car tuned 100% perfect at the moment,I just want to have a base tune and get the car running. Thanks

Why not buy a motes burner and use romeditor or tuner RT pro to make the changes yourself? or spend some more money and buy nisstune and it will easier than using those to make your MAF/Injector changes.

The key word there is "spend more money" thats not what im looking to do,I already bought the ecu,I already paid for these second chips,I dont want to spend more money to get the car running. If the safc doesnt get me where I want to be with the tune,I will go from there.

Buy Moates burner for $75. Sell AFC for more than $75. Have a better running car.

Well, either bug Calum more, or do nothing. If you don't want to spend more money, those are your options.

Or find someone local that will burn chips for you.

Dont you just pull the chips out and put the new ones in? i dont know... just a guess??? Calum gets hundreds of emails a day, takes him a while to sort through them. I want to know how to change the chips myself for when i go 4 bar. Also another question a calum basic daughterboard is NOT plug and play correct?

If this weren't clear...

The car will not run properly with the smaller injectors. You will run very lean. You can't run with that configuration.

No you pull the chip out and reburn it and put it back in. Some of you guys fail to understand Calums role here. He isn't JWT it's not his job to make maps. He gives us the tools so that we don't have to pay over and over and over to retune the ecu. Sounds like you have the older type board which is a pain in the ass to road tune with. Just buy a burner and try to redo your chip yourself. Ask someone on the board for help on how to do it yourself and empower yourself. You will feel alot better when you learn a little.

I don't see why it isn't. It has the Nissan ECU plug. it might need a little configuration before working properly. I'm not sure. But as far as I know it doesn't take anything more than plugging it in to get yourself up and running. Maybe it doesn't come with a base tune burned in all ready? I'm not familiar enough with Calum's stuff to know with certainty.

Exactly, Calum sells the hardware, not the software.

You can post in his forum asking for him to help. He as stated down there he has a few hundred emails backed up in his in box so its likely lost in there. He says post in the forum and he will notice it quicker.

He can burn you another set no problem, and he will get you close...but he is trying to make it so people do this stuff themselves. But he is very helpful. So you can try down at the bottom of the page in his forum to point out that you sent in money and an email... The thing is, he likes to see the order form so if you didnt use his order form its easy to get lost in the system. that piece of paper is the tracking system for him

Sorry, I was being cheap and hoping the post office would magically find them and deliver them.

They'll be there tomorrow, check your e-mail for a FedEx tracking number.

The other problem is the 550 injectors your using I've never worked with before. Without knowing what the latency is for them, its hard to predict how well the car will run (this really affects idle too rich or too lean). You can fix this yourself using a moates burn1 and changing the latency setting, or if you've got an s-afc you can use that to correct it.

The latency of these injectors is 1.4 millisecond at 13.5volts..I just talked to a tech guy at RC..Thanks Calum
