Consult cable with calum ecu?

I have a calum ecu, will a consult cable do me any good or can I monitor my car off of the ecu plug? All this ecu,consult,tuning is confusing to me....sorry

you can use the regular consult port under the dash.

The Basic Ecu you would need the consult cable, realtime ecu you don't need the cable. COM6 or 7 should be the Consult port for the software. Nistune,calmslut ect. THere all going to ask you which com port is the cable on. Hmm hope that helps you out.

Exactly which type of daughterboard do you have? Is the cable on the ecu a usb or serial? If its a serial, its exactly the same thing as having a consult adapter connected to your consult port, and never connect a consult cable to your car. If its a usb, then the consult port is installed on channel A. You need to find out what com port windows has stuck this on and make sure its on a usable port. See the Quick Start Guide for details.

I have the basic ecu with serial.I have a serial cable for it.Do I just download calumsult and plug laptop to ecu and monitor from there.Whats my best option?
