I found a couple good threads on setting timing, but I'm not sure if I need to go thru all that routine. I just bought a 92 Sentra SE-R. The owner had been running 17 degrees, but set it back to 15 degrees for the smog check. Before he changed it, he marked the distributor at 17.
So after the smog check, can I just put the distributor back to his mark, or do I have do do the full procedure? I think he said I could just put it back, but the ECU wouldn't recognize it immediately, but would eventually adapt. That sound right? Thanx, Bill
