How do I lean out a JWT ECU.

Everyone claims that the Jwt ecu runs a little rich. Is there a way to lean it out without the use of a (s-afc) for example? IF I lower the feul pressure will that work or will it not work to lean it out? LMK what you guys think is it a good or a bad idea?

without some sort of wideband to really monitor your air fuel ratios, i wouldnt apptempt it, a safc is going to act as a piggyback on the ecu to adjust the ratios...if you have a piggyback and wideb and i dont think its a BAD idea, however if you dont have awideband to monitor your exact air fuel ratios you obviously could blow up your motor

A JWT ECU shouldn't run rich. If your car is running rich, you have other problems. I've ran many many programs from JWT and they were all pretty much on target.

I have a feeling most people run their turbo cars with boost/vaccum leaks by using sh*tty worm clamps with piping w/o bead rolls. Remember, t-bolts and beaded pipes ONLY.

JWT runs rich, been shown many many times, when I say rich I mean 10 or 10.5:1 rich. When I was on the dyno I had to take out 2psi of fuel pressure at the regulator to get a nice 11.8:1 at WOT and better fueling when cruising. Car ran perfect that way.

If you don't do it on a dyno or with a wideband you could have a really bad experience.

Mine ran 11.4-11.7, but I guess your results may vary. You can reduce the fuel pressure and the ecu should compensate during light load when it's running closed loop. But I wouldn't try it without a wideband hooked up.

Agreed, mine was around 11 to off the charts as it went towards redline and never went above 12 . It really killed my hp #'s

This question was geared toward an N/a motor maybe it's different. Seems like the turbo guys are saying they are getting bad results.

If N/A just make sure to clean your Air Filter often and have decent spark plugs at all times, then it should run nice A/F ratio...

Still you must understand JWT does not have a magic ball to make a program so exact as to perfectly match what you have in your car. Wideband and dyno is the only way to suit a program exactly to your engine.
