MAP sensor just screws into an 1/8" NPT port on the intake, if you don't have one just put a barb adapter on the map sensor and run a hose to the intake manifold like you do for any vacuum or boost reading device (bov, FPR, WG and so on).

The MAP sensor gets mounted in the intake manifold to get an exact reading of the manifold vacuum. You may have to tap a hole.

Anyone have pictures of a MAP sensor installed on a fwd sr20????
I do but its a GM 3 bar map sensor nothing extraordinary lol

I appreciate it. I looked at my mani aagain and found the barb you were refering too. So thank you sir.
I actually put a 1/8" NPT "T-block" in so I can get vaccum after my TB for the BOV.

Thanks

Im unsure of what the GM sensor looks like if it is close to the AEM unit or not. So you may have to put a vacuum T in and run it to a port just past the TB like Brent ^^^ has said. Ill post up some pics of my setup soon. And how I mounted eveything, hopfully it helps.

Thanks

Alright my bad guys, been MIA for a couple weeks. Just in case anyone wants location of where the map sensor and ait sensor should be mounted here you go.

This is the AIT sensor location on the ic pipe right before the TB.

This is the MAP sensor location. I had a 1/8th inch pipe thread coming off the bacof the intake that had been tapped. Teflon taped the threads put a gender changer on the pipe so I could thread the map onto it.
Now, This was the original way I did this and later found out when installing the BOV that it said you needed to get vaccum from somewhere post the TB so I put a T in and have the MAP and a barbed fitting for the BOV hose feed line. Is the T the right way or. Will it cause innaccurate readings with re MAP?

Here are a few more pics. I actually made a wiring harness for the MAP and AIT sensor to splice into the harness in the car.

Hope it helps.

AEM always has and always will support the GM map sensors. I assume you have the 3 bar? Just keep in mind they are jittery and don't like a lot of vibration. The Kavlico or AEM brand MAP is much better.

Are the pins the same for a GTi-R harness running the newer 30-6600 Series 2 EMS? If not anyone know what pins to use?
