South Florida SR20 Members: Is Everyone Alright??

Hey I just got back electricity and decided to check to see if everyone made out ok. Im actually the only block for a good stretch with power at the moment. We actually held our ground up at my sister's house in Miami Lakes and I think we took some of the hardest hitting weather. Winds were crazy....Our Screen Patio lifted from the foundation, we had to run outside and tie extension cords around the beams to tie it down b/c we knew the entire thing was about to fly away. Grabbed the nail gun and nailed sheets of aluminum onto the ground to hold the extension cords down. Carport was destroyed (this is where my B14 was sitting), luckily it only had a scratch on the hood. We stood inside as we saw the aluminum panels flying off, we acted fast and ran outside again to catch and secure the flying panels of aluminum from becoming flying missles, in the end becoming someone else's problem. We waited against the wall, trying to hold our ground, waiting as each panel was torn off the frame when we saw someone else's aluminum panel flying about 50ft in the air and then crashing down on our driveway (about 10ft away from us), this is when we knew we should run back into the house. It was about 7-8 hours long, battering none stop. In the end, we all made it ok. Went outside to check if everything was ok and noticed the 2 huge tree in front of the house was uprooted and landed right in the direction of my daily driver B14, "Oh gawd!" I thought as I walked closer to the car. Luckily tree fell about 5 inches short of my car. My Sister's house is still out of power so we're all bundled up here at my place in the city. Hope all you guys and your family are alright!! Check in as soon as you can to let us know you're ok!!
Allan

Allan, glad to hear your ok and surprised that you have power! I can't get through to some family and freinds because some cellular networks are down. I hope my black NX is ok, I left it outside in a driveway, next to a tree

Give me a call later (don't have your # anymore).

I'm ok as well, luckily nothing too bad happened around the Dolphin Mall area, just a few trees bent/knocked around.

I heard that this weather pattern is supposed to get worse for the next ten years.
Is this true? Can anybody confirm this?

I am ok, but my house is not. My car also made it somehow, it got a ding or two, but it will be ok.

The roof over my bedroom however, did not fare so well, it is in pieces all over my neighaborhood.

I am hiding in orlando untill the mayhem blows over.

if your roof leaks, get on the list for fema, the army corps will strap it down with tarps in project blueroof untill your insurance gets it all fixed.

Yeah I finally got power back around 6:30 on 10-27. I was having fun with my neighbors though grilling out, drinking, and having a bon fire every night! I took my sentra and my girls Protege5 to a mall's parking garage and parked the Pathfinder under a carport. My apt complex was trashed as far as trees go, which mine has a ton of. We had atleast 15-20 cars with trees on them, most were either newer Altimas or Maximas too. My truck took minimal damage from flying sh*t, but only people with big trucks were the only ones able to leave my apt complex after the storm for 2 days. I had to driveover a couple parking curbs, between two carports, through a small grassy area where the dogs are normally walked, over a hill were a tree was knocked down last year, over another parking bumper to go over another hill and through some bushes to get out.... and I live in the very front of the community. OMGWTF I have a bunch of pics that I still need to load. I also got on video of one of the trees falling on the neighbors new Explorer(which didn't have insurance yet). But Ft. Lauderdale is a mess right now, I've been driving over things(medians, etc) left and right to get arond the massive traffic from having no lights or power to the ones still up. I mean it's a mess in Broward, but it coulda been much worse IMO.
