gasoline, or gunk engine cleaner. Or about 20 minutes before your done, throw on some latex gloves, and then just the sweat should knock off most the junk.

Heavy leather work gloves when I don't need fine finger control (no jokes!) andf latex when I do, and Fast Orange to clean up. FO works great.

I follow a 2 or 3 steps way:

1st: Fast Orange
2nd: Pump Soap + Freeman's "Bare Foot"<--Don't laught, that thing is really abrasive.

sometimes:
3rd: A pumice while showdering helps taking out the last black spots.

(By the way, I got deep fingerprints so, it's a PITA cleaning the mess.

I used something tonight that I have never used before, and it works better than anything I have ever seen, including mineral spirits or gasoline. I just can;t remember what it was called. It was in a wall-mounted dispenser that you turned a knob on the bottom and green powder came out. I was actually in awe how well it worked. All I know is the label was printed in Spanish. Nettoyant por los manos e natural. 4 letter name is all I remember.

-Josh

EDIT: Something else I can say for sure: DO NOT waste the money on Permatex brand hand cleaner. It won't even get rid of permatex. What kind of crap is that?

I have Fast Orange under the sink. Also, I'm sure it's not exactly safe for your skin, but I've tried Comet powder once, and it took off everything on my hands.

Boraxo here..it's like dish soap type crap..that you'd put in a dish washer..really abrasive (sp?) and takes almost anything off..works great.

Brake cleaner works really well. Probably not good for your skin though. If you can find "TKO" I heard it is really good as well.
