I dont know how bad is the West Nile Virus, up in the New England states, but here in So Cal west nile is very bad. In so cal counties, LA, Ventura, San Bernardino, Riverside, Orange, San Diego, & Imperial had higher deaths last summer than summer 03, which means that there were more cases of west nile reported last year.

Good thing you brought this topic up Greg, I dont have a garage but I use mosquito coils & citranella candles under my carport, also use mosquito repellant...

Well, since I left Chili's I joined Marshall Associates, which is a vendor rep. company that takes care of 50 product lines at Home Depot in the Seasonal / Garden department. One of the lines that we rep. is the Mosquito Magnet, which performs about 10 times better (really!) than the deleto item.
https://www.mosquitomagnet.com/mmtesting.html
Its made by American Biophysics, and they invented the technology. The smallest unit, the Defender, will drastically reduce the number of blood sucking insects from 1/2 an acre (that's 22,200 sq. ft) for +/- $295 plus about $20.00 per month in propane, electricity, CO2 cartridges and replacement nets. The $375 Liberty unit covers a full acre with the same operating costs. Generally, the MM will reduce the number of mosquitos in the coverage area such that the biting rate will go down to between 1/10th to 1/100th of what it was. Correct placement of the unit in your yard and correctly following the maintenence schedule will greatly increase the catch rate. For those in the southeast, read up on the Asian Tiger Mosquito
https://www.mosquitomagnet.com/asiantiger.html
and use the Lurex added attractant instead of the included Octenol.
Of course my company also takes care of Raid, Off and Tiki Torches and those are decent repellants, but won't kill the little bloodsuckers....
End of shameless plug....

i know a lot of ppl dont wanna hear it...but spraying yourself down works really good if you got a good bug spray. You get use to the smell after a while. *** you know how it is, if you put up a net, or candles, or whatever, the stupid mosquitos still find a way to you. And wasps, just find the nest, and your problems are over. I kinda like the paintball technique.

Hmm...about wasps. I have/had a problem with mud daubers in the past, annoying and scary little buggers. A can of brake cleaner and a lighter will do fine. Wait for it to fly close to you or it's nest and just hit him with a split-second blast. That's really all you need because their wings disintegrate in a heartbeat so you won't have retaliation issues. Then stomp and sweep up the victim.

p.s- I love animals like I do humans, but some of them just gotta die.

move to San Diego.

last time i was bit by a mosquito was in Vermont. I have never been bit by a mosquito in SD.

In CA, if you kill/move a bee hive, you get fined about $1000. this is why all the bee killing things only say wasp killer or flying insect killer.

i love the Wasp thing, i used to use the hose until i found this flying insect killer. just hide behind a car or something and take them out. kind of fun to do with Bees... err.... swarms of "flies"
