Same here man, I have a tool bag with 8,10,12, 14,17 MM sockets. Lots of screwdrivers, hammer, clamps, coupler, tape, etc. If I forget it in my garage before I leave the house in my se-r I feel naked.
a screw driver, adjustable wrench, jumper cables, duct tape, zip tipes, and one of those pimp ass xenon flash lights that i could use as a bloody head light....and its only 5 inches long!

Jumper cables, Victorinox Swiss Army Multitool, Lockblade knife, and an assortment of rachets, wernches and screwdrivers, but not more than 8 pounds.. i don't want to slow myself down too much!

"posi-twist" reusable electrical connectors (go to wal mart and buy them now!) folding razor knife. small ball pein and large hammer. set of deep set sockets (metric) adjustable wrench. "new car smell" scent and a small fire extiguisher. 90* phillips and flat head screw driver. ratcheting changable screw driver. all in a nice little canvse case that sits behind my seat.
I have my lug nut key which is stupid because I dont even have a spare tire haha. I used to have a little folder type tool kit that I kept in there, but I forget to put it back.
