Whats the name of this machine/tool?

Anyone know how to build, or, where to buy the machine that puts the grooves on the end of intercooler pipes?

It's called a bead roller. The nice ones are expensive. Harbor freight sells an OK one. I just TIG beads on my pipes.

do you have a part number? I just did a search for "bead" and "bead roller" and nothing for $90 came up.

The Eastwood one looks nice but is waaaay to expensive!!

cut an 1/8th of an inch off the end of the pipe and cut it to stretch around the end of the pipe and then weld it.

A very cheap and easy way to put beads on the end of pipes is to use epoxy. Mix it up and let it set just a little and put it on the end. If you're careful you can make a nice bead all the way around. This is what I did with mine and it worked like a charm.

I did it similarly, I used JB weld and rolled it between my hands until it was pretty long and then laid it around the end of the pipes and Voila!

I just took a walk back by the metal workers at work and found out we have one like the first one, but a lot more heavy duty, so I will be bringing all my pipes to work from now on. Problem solved!

...KitCar macazine just did a 'Tips" write-up on exactly that....

...all that is needed is a pipe stretcher and a grinder...
