Spray wax?

A few years ago, when I was at GM, I picked up a couple of cans of a waxy spray-on coating that I find rather useful for spraying on chassis and engine compartment fasteners to keep them from getting rusty and nasty (or rustier and nastier) during the winters here. It even works somewhat on exhaust hardware.

I have, however, so far failed to find such a product publicly available anywhere I've looked. Has anyone else seen something like this?

Fluid Film

Oily/waxy coating derived from sheep's wool. Non-toxic, and pretty amazing stuff. I use it for everything from guns to weatherproofing leather boots, to rustproofing my car.

Ah, and hey David, long time no talk! Didn't realize it was your post at first there.

Hey James, how are ya?

Hmm, so I can break out the wax for my Barbour jacket and use it on my car?

This also reminded me of the oily underbody spray people apply to their cars each fall that seems to be rather common in Canada but not so common on the other side of the bridge (or tunnel) here.

Hey, I'm good, thanks!

You seriously can. You could use it on the jacket for sure, although it does have a bit of a smell that goes away after a bit (remember, it's from sheep).

It's heavier than that. I use the oilspray on my car every year, but this is thicker. The grade I just put on my suspension towers and underbody goes on with a paintbrush. It's something that really resists salt water spray very well; good for marine applications as well.
