Best way to keep Garage Cool

since Ben made a heating thread, i was thinking, the heat is finally here, and I cant stand it. Rediculous heat. 85 degrees and EXTREMELY humid at night. forget the day.

I was thinking about one of those floor unit A/C things, they seem to work pretty well, but are very expensive. with some insulation it could work well though. any other ideas?

swamp cooler not very effective in high humidity, here in AZ they work fine since it is very dry air. When it does get humid coolers are worthless you need to turn on the a/c.

contact Terry V @ FTF Motorsports... he has an awesome cooler setup in his garage that does not take up much space at all!

Geo. Is the shop going to be in the DFW area, or further south?

I think it will be hard to keep the garge cool. Unless you garage is big enough to keep[ the door open. I just use a fan Will

open the doors and set fans in the windows, thats the only way to do it will other wise you can close everything off and get a REALLY REALLY good a/c unit for the window, if you dont have a window, get a BIG ASS FAN

If you have a window get a window unit. or cut out a hole in the wall. I never Heard of a floor unit before so i dont know much about them. some thick Insulation should help.

I glad that i dont have to worry about the heating/cooling stuff in my garage. Its part of the house and uses the central heat/air cond. form the house.

The only window I have faces the front of the house, So I dont want to put a window unit in there... There is a back door on the garage though that goes out to the side of the house, Ill probably just get some huge fan to pump air though the garage.

Is there any easy way to cut a hole in block walls? sounds kinda dangerous, hehe.
