Is it hard to install a garage door opener , if there wasnt one there in the first place ?

I just installed a Genie screw drive opener by myself on Sunday and it took me about 6 hours. That included modifying the bracket that clamps on to the door itself and the bar that connects it to the track.

it all depends on what kind of motor you get, and what is up with your garage, for mounting it. no matter what the door is ***** suck for install.

I screwed with mine for a few hours, then paid a guy $75 to come out and install. He threatened to charge double for the stuff I messed up, but I talked my way outa that.

well thanx guys for all ur input , looks like im going to pay someone to install this thing.... And im just remembering that ur probably going to have tto program the remotes after all that installing ......... Its a headeche i dont need !

thanx to my good pals Shelmoneyser00 , kesi24 . it took us 3 hour but we got my Garage Door opener up and running. I would post pic's but in just doesnt make sense , u all know *** it looks like .....bedtime !
