Evo + PC 7424 =

I used a Meguires clay bar, Meguires body scrub, Sonus paintwork cleaners, and Meguires NXT. I used off the shelf stuff, minus the Sonus, so the owner could give the paint a freshen up if needed. I think the car came out great.

I used Meguires NXT on my Nx recently...curious anyone have a rough idea on how long this will last? (I figure 3 weeks would be good)

Depends on the conditions. Carnauba waxes only last about 1 - 4 weeks. If you want something that lasts longer, use a sealant.

what kind of sealent? I have a new black vehicle and it sits outside in the valley while I am away at work (sometimes for weeks) . Is there a good one with a UV protectant?

All sealants and waxes provide UV protection. I'm not anyone's ever been able to measure how much UV protection any given sealant or wax offers, though.

With a new black car, I'd be sure to wash it carefully, because new cars usually have a lot of grime on them from the transporter. Dealerships never detail cars very well. Use a high quality wash mitt and a separate bucket for wash and rinse water. Then clay bar the car - you'll be surprised at all the contamination you'll pull off of it.

If you have swirls or marring you can polish them out at this point. If they don't bother you, you can go ahead and seal it. I prefer acrylic sealants, I think they last longer (4 to 6 months depending on conditions) and provide more protection than amino resin sealants. For you I'd recommend Klasse All-In-One. It's really easy to apply - you just wipe it on and wipe it off, no waiting or anything. It has some cleaning and polishing ability to it, so you're cleaning up the paint a bit as you apply it, and it's an acrylic, which should last you at least 4 months, even sitting in the hot sun. The smallest bottle of Klasse AIO usually sells for $16.99 to $19.99, and a little dollop goes a long way. Be sure to use a microfiber applicator so you don't scratch your paint.
