Chassis dollies...

Hey guys... I have a question and it looks like this may be the best place to ask. I have a Z that's on jack stand in my garage. But it's not a rolling chassis. I've seen OTC making chassis dollies for $260 a pair. I know just fork out that 260 dollars is the easiest route. But I need two pairs and it would cost over $500. I was wondering if any of you guys have ever ran in to this problem where you have a non rolling chassis and you want it to be moveable around the garage. And how did you can solve the problem?

The only idea I have right now is get (4) 6 tons jack stand. And make a base with rolling castors. I appericate any help you guys can give me.

.......I just got 6 wheel dolliies (around $110) at Harbor Freight, I took my jack stands and bolted them to the dollies.

.........I just got an e-mail from either jcwhitney or summit or someone that has a sale on exactly that (wheel-dollies with the jack-stand provision) .....

.........I just used bolts to hold mine in place......... good luck, Jason

....yea those are the ones but $90!!! harbor freight man!
...........they are the same in the pic.....

.....don't have a pic but what I did was ;

.....take the stand, put it on the dolly, mark the edges of the stand, drill 4 holes for some bolts, I used some hd 9/16 carriage bolts and a pair of washers for each bolt. all I did was snug the bolts and they work fine.

.........I think a few pieces of box or bracket steel would give a better snug"...

....and you can take them off later...............good luck , Jason
