Yeah, yours isn't too bad. My buddy worked at a local off road shop, and when he would drop a smaller bolt or nut on the shop's floor, he said he'd spend a while trying to find it.

I can see that happening. I just hate dropping crap under my car.

So is the clear coat over the top of the epoxy the way to go? Just getting ready to move into my new house and want to do the floors before we get settled.

You can't go wrong with a clear coat.

Check out www.garagejournal.com if you want some really good ideas...

just curious, if you put the sand in the paint and then clear coat it, will it still grip just as well? would you have to mix sand into the clearcoat as well?

It's holding up PERFECT. I got lazy by leaving some oil on the far side of the garage. But I will tell you. It's much nicer with the clear coat.
But still. Don't leave oil on the floor to long or it will stain the floor.
I would do it in my next house hands down.

I am having a house built and I am debating doing this to my new garage. The concrete floor is bare. So I have been debating painting it like you did or just using some concrete sealer.

Not sure what to do. I would hate to have to scrape up any paint once it gets real old.

Gald its holding up for you.

You have to wait at least a Month before you can put Epoxy on a newly poured floor.
I don't know about the sealing of the concrete. I would think you would want it to be pourious(sp) so the Epoxy can get into the concrete..

But I would do it before you do ANYTHING Major in u'r garage. I would still do a Acid scrub to get the floor real clean.
Hope this help.

I've been going back and forth on this, and with my new house, I don't thin I'm going to paint the floor. Once you paint concrete, you have to keep painting it.

I was looking into these to possibly do my garage floor in the future. Have not looked into pricing etc. yet, but maybe some of you want to look into it also.

Decided to go with some tile instead of epoxy. I think if I had a failure in the epoxy after putting a couple of weeks worth of time preparing the floor and doing the work it would really make me mad. Ordered my tiles yesterday and I should have them in about a week.

Thats my dilema aswell Eric. I really am torn on what to do but, at the same timeI don't want my floor to look like crap if I spill some oil.

Has anyone just sealed there floors by using a basic concrete sealer? I know they sell one that is glossy.
