My wife bought me a PC 7424 for my birthday. I finally ordered it last week, and ordered the Sonus DAS buffing pad kit. Holy smokes, this buffer is the cat's meow. It took no time at all to polish the car. I used my Sentra as the test car, before using it on the black 200SX. The paint on the Sentra is real bad, and I need to clay bar it, but I didn't this time. I used Pinnacle cleaner and polish, and finished with a coat of Megiures NXT wax. I can't wait to see what the Zaino does to the black car.

I didn't take any before pics, but this is what the car looked like when I bought it in 2000.
Nice job throwing in the super old pic, Eric. If you didn't know the car has been painted since then, this would be a great infomercial!
[infomercial voice talking about buffer]
Look at what supermegabuffer3000 does to this Nissan Sentra!
Shows old pic
Pic spins around in a circle making swirling sound
Shows new pic (bling sound)!
[/infomercial]
It does look great though!

Yeah, sorry the car was repainted a few years ago. The before buffer pictures would have looked bad, since the car had been sitting for a few weeks oldside, and it was very dirty. I will take before and after pictiures of the black car though.
I wonder.... I looked at the portercable website, and then googled "portercable polisher". They have the 7424 listed, but also the 7336. The 7336 seems to do the same thing as the 7424, as far as polishing, but it also can be used as a sander.
They're about the same price, so I was figuring to get the 7336 instead of the 7434.
Geez, thinking about it now, I'm not sure I'm getting the "7336" right. Getting old and I didn't write the number down. Anyway, in the pictures, it looks pretty much like the other.
Peace,
Mark

the 7424 has a bigger counter weight which makes it easier to control.
eric, a great cleaner/polish is Megs Dual Action Cleaner Polish. If you are going to do that black car you were talking about, I highly reccomend it. It really works great with the PC on black cars to remove etching and swirls.

Mark, I bought it from Coastal Tool. She didn't know what to buy, so told me to get it and she would pay for it. I think it was $138 with shipping, maybe less. I got the foam pads from autopia-carcare.com. I'm using the DAS kit.
