Anyone know the belt size needed for the alternator to crank if you want to bypass your A/C? TIA

The part number for with A/C is K060408 and without A/C is K040330, the last 3 numbers are the length and the 060 and 040 are the number of grooves in the belt, so you take 408 minus 330 which leaves you 78 mm, and the part number from Unorthodoxracing.com is K060390 so the part number WITH the pully, W/O A/C would be K060312(or however close you can get to that...a 4-grove belt would also work) I BELIEVE.
Hope this helps.

Old thread, I know. I would like to know what the Gates or any other makers part number is for the belt I will need when I remove my AC when I go turbo. I have a stock crank pulley. Searched and could not find any info on this.
I went directly to napa and had to order mine. Maybe check if theres a napa in your area, website might be wrong not sure.
so you are saying that napa does have the correct size belt. you just had to special order it? these "gates" part numbers dont do me any good as i live in alaska and have never heard of that place. if you did get the belt at napa what is the napa part number/size? this would really help me out. it seems rediculous that so many people remove the air con and then find it so hard to get ahold of the right belt! lets get this straightened out.
ok i feel kinda stupid. gates is a brand of belts. and i finally found one that worked for me. my application was a GTIR motor without the A/C. the gates belt i found was a 5 rib ( i figured thats better than 4) and it is gates part # K050330. hope that helps anyone who is looking. im glad to be done with this! believe it or not i ended up getting 6 different belts till i found this one!
