I'm curious as to the oil filter thread size and pitch is. I'm trying to compare it to a Nissan's thread size and pitch.

I don't know about the pitch and the thread size, but I can tell you that the oil filter used, I'm guessing the you mean the one for the 2.0 and 1.8t and not the VR6 motor, are used exclusively on VW and other European cars, I have never seen them used on other cars, though I have since one put on the Focus Zetec motor without leaking but it is not the recommended filter.
