hey 200sx se-r wv im from the cleveland area. parma to be exact. he hit 200mph in it. there is a video of him getting up to 194 but it cuts out because about 15 seconds later he hit the wall. walked away from it to. lucky guy.
Aha.... and stripped down 4th generation 95-99 Maximas are around with 2600lbs with no problems... one guy got his down to 2510 after he stripped the car down completly.
Maximas are not heavy, as big as the car is... they are pretty light. My 01 weights 3021lbs and thats with a system in the trunk. Light suspension, wheels, Carbon fiber components strip it down a bit. Stock its 3100lbs.
New Sentra weights almost as much.
This said I am still standing by the old VQ30DE-K. Cause without the working CVTC its pretty much the same power.... 172ish WHP for the 95-99 motors, 185-199WHP for the 00-01 3.0L (depends on the wheel size from the factory) and about 205-210WHP for the 02-03 models. All manual tranny cars. Remove the CVTC from the 02-03 model and its about 190WHP.
yeah but our cars are 2400lbs stock and we lighten em to 2300 or less, imagine that kinda power =)
edit: new sentras are butt ugly, and no1 on this forum rocks those. newest model's on this forum are 01-04 and theyre heaviest model (spec-v) was 2700lbs from the factory, so no matter how you look at it we're still lighter :-P

The block, heads, crank, oil pump, pistons, and rods are all the same.. The differences are the oil pans, front cover, water pump, intake manifold, plenum, cams, and headers. With that said.. a RWD block would work in a FWD car.. and vice-versa.. with changing the external parts over either way.
Travis
And if you drop back to 2003/2004, not sure that even Plenum, cams, header are all different - both rated at 287 crank hp, same redline and gearing, other than the engine cover my G has a better CAI than the 2003Z did stock, and if you drop a K&N filter in the airbox, get rid of the G Coupe's resonator pipe and use the Z-tube, the G edges up about +5 whp on the dyno.
Seems like the divergence happened after 2004, my G Coupe and 350Z engines seemed to be identical in almost every way. Both dyno'd almost identically in stock trim even with the 350Z on paper rated higher at the crank. The Sedan was a different story, for certain, but not so sure the Coupe and 350Z had many differences back then under the hood.
I only mention it because donor cars are likely to be the older cars, and if they're the same, opens up more choices.

That's nuts, how the hell did he get the aerodynamics of the car to behave above 150 mph? I would expect lift would be a serious issue for that car at those speeds. That's serious speed in any car, and trust me, 140mph + in a 350Z or a G Coupe gets your full attention with their full aero kit and general aerodynamics, weight, it's an adventure. 200 mph is insane in 99.999% of the cars on the planet based on any streetable car.
I have a hard time picturing that one. Full-on 1/4 mile car?
he redid the front end i heard looked kind of like a nascar. umm and 1/4 mile time im not so sure of but im positive i can find it somewhere. and yes 200 mph in a dodge colt. crazy.
So when does this come out and if it did already can i get the link or number so i can buy this, this is really cool V6 in a lil a$$ B13 WOOOOOOOOOOOOSSSSHHHHHH!!!!!!

Early 1995~1997 type VQ30 ECU and Maxima MAF
Use stock engine loom to get coolant temp sensor signal, stock speedo sensor in RS5F50 gearbox, MAF, TPS, A/C, Consult output, etc and splice into the plug for VQ30 ECU. Run new wires in a seperate loom from the VQ ECU plug to power the V6 coils and injectors.
Convert the stock plenum into a twin SR20 throttle setup with one TPS for awesome induction note.
Factory gearbox chassis mount(mild modification), with 3 other fabricated engine mounts.

Future mods:
Bikirom daughterboard in a VQ30 ECU and Bikirom has PWM outputs for the camshafts VCT

I've been on b15sentra.net and it looks like Unlucky is Trav4011 over there. Seems like he is busy with the VQ35 to Spec-V swaps. His swaps run the quarter in 12.9 @ 105mph. He says the weight placement and difference is negligable and it's lighter than a SR20DET swapped Spec V by about 40lbs. He also says, there is no noticeable increase in body roll or negative handling characteristics with a VQ35 in a Spec V.
I hope he hasn't forgotten the B13. A VQ35/B13 would have to be one of the most popular swap kits ever, especially with VQ engines and transmissions in junk yards all over the country. Anyone know the best way to get a reply from Travis?
^^
Correct. The VQ35 is slightly lighter than a SR20DET(especially if you have a FMIC) and as a lot of weight sits over the axle, the handling is not compromised.
My car will be finished this Friday(new wheels + tune), adding two RB25 MAF's(one as a dummy) and halving the injector K value which doubles fuel flow to compensate for twice the air flow to allow the VQ30 ECU to run a twin MAF, twin throttle body setup. My current twin throttle/single MAF/VQ30 ECU setup already gives a nice induction note and around 160kw@wheels
The conversion itself into a B13/14 is not hard(N14/15 a little harder) if you use the earlier VQ30 Maxima 5 speed box(RS5F50)
I also have a digital video camera these days so video will be available on putfile and will be hitting the track this weekend.
