Of course it's POSSIBLE to get a good engine from other suppliers. Wasn't trying to belittle other reputable suppliers, Soko reputedly being one of them. I was only trying to make a point about Dre's integrity and reliability. You WILL get a good engine from Andreas. And just because you paid less doesn't mean you got a good deal. etc. etc.

I agree. Andreas is a great person to deal with. he himself told me to look elsewhere when I contacted him about a DE. He said his prices are not the lowest, and there are other good importers out there. He is very honest, and I will deal with him when and if I go VE

Andreas get nothing but respect from me

Called K. Watanabe for a price quote on an SR20VE, guy had no idea what I was talking about. I hear they're a good place for Honda motors, though.

Ok let me re-phrase...I think I may have left some info on what I was looking for out...I'm looking for the best deal possible on a DET with un-cut harness, 5-speed tranny (fwd, not awd) and ecu and all swap components...and I own a G20 by the way...used to own a sentra, but after 4 sets of motor mounts, 3 transmissions, and a rabbit going through my radiator...I noticed that the car was just turning into bad luck for me...lol

I ordered my VE from the only person I would trust to order one from, and that's Andreas Miko. He sent me a super clean engine that I'll be swapping in over the next week. My second choice would probably be Soko or K. Watanabe, the latter of which offers the best warranty that I'm aware of. Didn't know debunk sold engines, but if Greg P. says he's a standup guy, I don't doubt it for a second.

Heck, I can give you the best deal on a DET - $12 plus shipping - but it's in a box with a two piece crank. I'm kidding; the point is do you want the damned thing to be right or do you just want it cheap? This forum is full of threads from people whining about their cars never spending more than a day at a time off the stands; when you look between the lines or at other comments they've made it's perfectly clear that they've never connected with the concept that YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. You can always find somebody out there who will be willing to give you a substandard product for less. I'm part of the Dre fanclub simply because I'm willing to pay for something that I KNOW will work the way it's supposed to (well, okay, he's a nice guy too). AND I have no doubt that there are other folks available to us that are just as stand up reputable. Okay Rob, what's the 350 in?

I have an old 3/4 ton Checy pickup with a 350 in it, but that quote is from "Boogie Nights."

Ah. Just curious -- I have a 350 w/ 400 crank (383) in the shed left over from one of my kid's and my (mis)adventures ($3500 in parts, you get the idea), can't make myself get rid of it and keep fantasizing about a home for it.
