I know the older engines are legends but I wonder how the newer design holds up. I know there were some decent changes after 1999 and I'm close to 100k (which ends my extended warraty) and wondering how long the 00-01 have gone for alot of members here.
I've maintained it well and used nothing but Mobil 1. Would LOVE not to have to buy a new car for a few more years. I figure I have 90k mile service and a timing chain at 100k coming up but hopefully nothing major after that.
The MAF and starter already died but that's been about the only issues over the last 5 years. Great made car!

mine only has 54,750 and still running strong. I had to replace a starter & fuel injector.
What were the symptoms when the fuel injector went out? Just curious becuase under hard accerelation I'm getting a bad gas small. never used to do that. I'm at 85k on my 2001.

the cars would jerk and sputter. It felt like a misfire. I did not smell any gas or anything. The check engine light came on and it read misfire clylinder #1. Change it and problem went away. The dealer had the injector in stock so maybe it is a common problem. I never heard of it on our cars.
I wondering why all these newer cars have so many got damn miles on them
