97 altima KA to SR swap

Does anyone have the details to do this swap. It doesnt seem to hard but i know there will be some things that wont just fall into place. Mabye a link with how to or something. Thanks.. I was told you couldnt make a GA16 fast 10 years ago and i should have bought the SE-R. 12.43@109mph in a GA B13, if they could only see me now and try to tell me that.

the KA never came in a sentra .try some searching for SR20 swap . you have a GA16de .

try to get a se-r and swap it all over to your car.

^ primara is the closest to an altima i beleive.

i think the only difficult part would be making the mounts fit. other than that it would like a 240 sr swap right?

Car and Driver predicted the future accurately when they wrote that "poems will be written about this engine [and] ballads will be sung." <talking about the FWD sr20.

There's SR20DET alti's in the US. Just not peeps on this board. I think its a relatively bolt-in affair because of the SR alti's in foreign markets.

yeah, the altima is a bluebird, thats where most of you guys get your motors from, lol

but why not just turbo the ka, they make good power (what are your goals)
my buddy converted his auto ka to 5-speed, and it runs 15.9
with no emissions/cai/and a muffler

when shit hits the fan, you should probably duck

the a/c and power steering lines are the only two major obstacles when doing an altima ka to sr swap. they either have to be modified or removed... i think that goes without saying.

I know a guy interested in the same thing. I'm guessing you would need the axles from a ser?

Sorry to bring back old threads but I'm in the middle of this swap. And what a pain...
The transmission has to come from a 2000-20001 sentra 2.0 the same b15 we all crave. The mount is the same and its hydraulic so you dont have to convert the altima. Then axles from the same car along with I think hubs from a maxima...Still trouble shooting the hub thing.
But all in all the swap will be worth it. I know I've never seen it in super street so maybe a 1 page story? We hope *crosses fingers* I'll be starting a thread on this soon. I just hope we dont get flammed for it going into a altima. But hey at least its a nissan. Unlike the vw project thats on hold while I'm in school.
We've been documenting it from day one.
