Car-nage Pics. Body experts please?

*More pictures, with no fender, Post 14 below*

*More pictures, with no fender and no hood, Post 26 to follow*

*More pictures, with no fender, hood, bumper and more crushed stuff removed. Post 82 to follow*

* 01/29/07 Update* More pictures, with no fender, hood, bumper, radiator, AC condenser, and the upper apron pulled outward. Post 88 to follow*

From this Off Topic Thread.

http://www.sr20forum.com/showthread.php?t=183812

Here's the photos of my beloved Classic.

If it would be helpful or necessary, I think I can pull the passenger front quarter panel. I am reasonbly confident that I can open (and perhaps just remove) the hood. Then I could take additional photos.

Expert body repair specialists in the house? Opinions please on my options. Repair or replacement time? Details please, I am ignorant.

I have access to a shell, with all the parts necessary except for the right front quarter panel. I can literally source the junker parts car for $200-$300 bucks. Maybe spend an additional hundred with Fred Casey if I am missing anything else.

Well, here's the damage:

Replacement parts to purchase per Lukamcloud:

1) right apron -
2) right fender -
3) Right upper fender reinforcement (what the fender bolts to)
4) headlights -Tsuru http://www.rapidcustoms.com/
5) 93-94 only complete radiator core support -
6) Radiator upgrade to NX2000 -
7) Radiator overflow bottle -
8) AC Condensor -
9) 93-94 bumper -
10) 93-94 SE-R bumper cover -
11) hood hinges -
12) Hood -
13) Windshield wiper bottle -
14) Fuse box, passenger side -
15) He also said that you'd likely have to take it to a body shop and have them pull the frame to get it all straightened back out. The rest is pretty much just cut and paste work.

I'd need to see the structure area down by the washer bottle to know for sure, but it *looks* repairable. If you can make friends with a body guy that can pull the rail straight it just might be salvageable (if that's a word). Does the car drive straight, and is there any damage underneath?

Shawn, this hurts to see... it probably hurt you worse when it happened

Just an FYI, I will be selling my sentra soon... so if your interested, we can discuss what you want on it since I am parting alot of the performance parts out.

that looks VERY fixable. Im no expert, but, I did stay at a holiday inn express last night....

but anyway it looks like it missed the rail and went over top of it. The inner fender liner is not exactly structural. And I use the term rail loosely. If there isnt any damage under the car to the suspension mounting points, and nothing like on the roof/a pillar id say its fixable. You are looking at probably 2000 in costs of pulling, replacing, and painting the car. So its all up to you. Id say a decent body shop can fix that really easily.

And i have a nice NX for sell if you want an NX

Lemme pull some more crunched crap out of the way.

Have not tried to drive it, except straight (hehe) forward after the wreck. It started up, and I drove it thirty maybe forty feet directly forward.

Physically, I was sore for few days. A-OK now. Sentra seatbelts work really well.

Mentally and emotionally? Rocked me, I don't have the most stable foundation.

We'll see what the body guys have to say on those pics. There will be a Classic in my driveway, one way or another. So, that is a yes on shooting me a PM on your ride when you are ready. Before you post it. LOL.

it would depend on how bad the frame is bent. Cant really tell with the fender in the way. If you could have a place pull it straight the rest of the stuff could be replaced easily.

Easy tiger. That happens to be a one owner car that he is already VERY upset about losing. The last thing he needs is someone chastising him as if it's his fault. Also note- it's best to avoid conversations with Shawn B that begin "WTF."

Looks fixable to me. It's doesn't even look as though the suspension's outta whack. I was expecting the wheel/tire to be pushed into the back of the front fender. If that was my car, I'd check the tow to see if it changed the suspension settings. If not, I'm thinking it's a matter of welding in the donor's front part of the inner fender and rad support and then the bolt-on pieces and some paint. That's not going to be "cheap" to do at a pro shop, but then again, either is purchasing another nice classic.

Ask and it shall be done. Blessed with blood twice. Will remove the remainder of the fender (about six inches) by the base of the door tomorrow. I cut that biatch off the car.

I won't say anything else. Valones very first post, no sh*t. Thank you for allowing me to not say anything. Nuclear response aborted. Biting tongue. Off. Someone record this event for future reference.

If I was in Miami, you'd be getting a phone call. And a big bag of green....uh.....money. Whatever worked for you.

What a way to learn how to wrench on cars. Fixing my smashed Classic.

I dunno either. See the extra pics. I bet I could get the hood open/off tomorrow if necessary.

Any hints on opening that hood? The latch is locked and fuxored big time.

My stomach hurts from taking the damn pictures.

Thanks for the support.

Looks like an easy fix now! A body guy could probably make pretty short work of pulling that corner straight and welding in a new forward hood-ledge and core support. It looks like it's a high enough hit that it missed all of the rail structure.

Find where the cable attaches to the latch, and grab the cable with a pair of vise grips and pull. If that doesn't work, I'd try to unbolt the latch from the vert support and cut the cable.

I'm doing a Snoopy Dance around my computer.

Ya think so?

Any hints on getting the hood open? That thing is crushed shut.

It never did spill any liquids. Started right up after the accident and drove it straight...ahem...directly forward.

If I can get the hood off, I can better see clearance and provide more pics.
