CHEAP alternative to shifter stabilizer bracket

I discovered my red NX had a busted shifter stabilizer bracket. I was going to make a solid bracket, then looked around to see what I can find in Energy Suspension that could work. Well, as luck would have it, there is a sway bar bushing that fits almost perfectly.

Holes are dead on, you can see the stock bracket underneath.

The ONLY thing you need to do to this bushing is cut off a lip on one side of the urethane. It is thicker than the stock one, and that bolt will not go all the way through far enough to get the nut on the other end.

And now, the part number is 9.5151R if you want it in black replace the R with a G. These come 2 in a pack, and its about $20, so its a hell of a cheap upgrade. I'm not sure what car comes with a sway bar thats only 7/16" thick, but I'm sure happy there's one out there so ES can make this part

If anyone is interested, I can order some more, I only had one in stock and it belongs to me

I will get a few pics of it from underneath the car, batteries conveniently died right when I tried to take a pic of it installed.

I'd like to see pics installed, but I'd take a set if it fits.

I'll get the installed pics this weekend. BTW, the shifter feels so much more solid now in shifts. Its a great cheap upgrade.

Is this an NX only "cheap upgrade"? Or is this going to be universal? (Sorry for the nub question)

It'll work on b13s, b14s, p10s, and p11s. I'm sure they all use the same rubber stabilizer bracket.

If there's enough interest in these, I'll get a few ordered. We didn't keep many around since they don't sell.

Serban, this does not replace the "ES shifter bushing", correct? It is in addition to the ES shifter bushing. It would go where the Custom Steel unit goes.

The normal shifter bushing goes at the front of the stabilizer bracket, where it very inconveniently bolts on top of the engine firewall mount.

That's correct. This is separate from the shifter bushing. ES does not make a specific mount for the shifter stabilizer bracket, but this is close enough.

You can get ES parts at most local auto parts stores, I know I can't ship to you in Canada, but you have the part number, so you can probably source it somewhere locally.

Chris brought this up to my attention, they also have these non-greaseable, but I didn't have those in stock. I know the bracket has slightly different dimensions than the one I have now, but I can get both part numbers.

I will get a few sets of the greasable ones like I have ordered since I know they will fit. Just remember, you will need to do some trimming on the urethane to make it fit.

Okay... stupid question...but does that bushing go like... under the shifter itself ?

I had the ES shifter bushing that went on the tranny. On the shifter stabalizer bar, like we see in the picture here.

That sway bar bushing is for the back part of the shifter stabilizer.

The bracket you see on the left is what this replaces.
