Power windows in a classic (pics)

I finally got around to hooking up the power windows. I ended up using a 200sx master switch. I had to cut a lot of my door panel to get the whole thing on there, but it looks very stock. Here are some pics.

I had to cut the handle area on the 200sx plate, it was hitting my seatbelt (this pink thing), so I cut part of it off, and put some speaker box carpeting thats being held by a rubber band. Not the most professional thing to do, but its better than having a view of the inside of my door

So far I only have the passanger side working, still waiting on the rubber window channel for the driver door. Window get stuck, and its really hard to crank. I dont want to put the motor on there and have the thing burn out.

I'll second that, very clean and professional looking! I like it. Can't wait to do mine, oh wait, I don't even have the car to do it in yet. What are you doing with your manual crank opening in the door panel? I plan to mount some tweeters there, that's what I did on my truck. Aftermarket setups give you an assortment of tacky plastic plugs to put there. I prefer tweeters, even if you don't bother to hook them up, just get some cheap ones.

Thanks everyone, once again, I used: http://my.ais.net/~epster/window.htm for getting everything done. The instructions on there are pretty good. When I do the driver side, I will try to take some pictures, and post them on here.

Im impressed...looks nice.

I have power windows and very original "child molester" locking doors (something I think it reminds me of becuase of how steath the lock button is)....the locking switch is next to my shifter. The power windows switches are underneath the radio...it looks pretty phat and everythign works great. I will post some pics this week of them. I didnt put them in however...they came with the car. Happy I have them though.

Serban, 2 things.

1) Looking at your door panel, what color is your interior? I wanted to change my seats and door pnales to a rust color like the color Porsche or Mercedes uses using leatherette or an affordable leather that is durable.

2)Is that sweat on the floor? Damn you worked hard on those windows!

Eric, it will be worth the money, trust me. I find myself putting down the passanger side window for no reason at all except to see it go down by itself

The interior is stock, I just had the door panels reupholstered thanks to SE-Rican's dad, he owns an upholstry shop in south FL.

Thats not sweat, it started raining as soon as I went outside to take pictures, those are drops of rain. I did work hard on the door panel, but not THAT hard

Well, both doors are done. I have no pictures since it was raining the entire time I did the driver side window. It was a lot of drama, but well worth it. I am enjoying my new power features.

Man, that looks pretty good. It seems like it would be a dream to have power windows on a Classic. I would kill to have power windows on my car, haha.

OK. So I have an interesting question...

How many "manly men" here want this power window mod?

So how many of you have removed your AC for "manly man-ness"?

Hmmm?

(I dont count because my AC doesnt work... I want it to *badly*!!!)

Oh...its because I got rear ended pretty hard a while back ago and the stupid body shop put on the SENTRA badge on right side instead of the left side. Its ok for me because it makes my car a bit easier to find at a parking lot, haha.

Removing the A/C for manlyness? Power windows for manlyness? I don't see the connections. I'll definately be doing this when I get a classic, I'd do it on the XE but since I'm not going to be keeping it... As for removing the A/C, why the hell would I do that? I don't know how much HP removing the A/C nets you but I'd spend money elsewhere to compensate before I'd get rid of my A/C. If it was easy to do, I'd just swap out the belt to cutout the A/C if I was giong to the track or something, but I doubt I'll ever do that. I just got my truck out of storage today and brought it home to start fabbing up my stepside fenders. I love the power windows I put in it, they are so much faster than any OEM or aftermarket setup I've ever seen. I'm all about putting in power windows and locks in vehicles that didn't have them.
