Well I was reading on nissanforum that this was the best way of using
Seafoam on our cars :
Seafoam is fun! This is what i've done:
1) Pour about half the can into a shallow bowl
2) Unplug the vaccuum line going to the brake booster
3) Start the engine (it's going to be VERY rough, might need someone sitting in the drivers seat to give it some gas to keep it going)
4) Hold the vaccuum line into the bowl and let it suck up ALL of the fluid. Once it is all gone, TURN THE ENGINE OFF IMEDIATELY. Reconnect the vaccuum line.
5) Wait for 10 minutes.
6) Start up the engine and get ready for some smoke!!
I'd repeat this same process about 3 times in order to get all the crap out of your valves.
My question is:
Is this the best way of using seafoam for our cars ?
and I thought you were suppose to let the seafom go in slowly or
is it safe to let it all get sucked up all at once through the brake booster?
Thanks

^ broken link..i use seafoam once a year and it works pretty well-just change the plug shortly after..for some reason i was getting a cel due to the o2 sensor on my b14 and after seafoam no more cel-some techs at my job state that this type of cleaner is bad for ur catalytic-i always use 1/3 in the tank and the rest in the brake booster--slowly--that whole part of using a 1/3 in the oil is skipped sinc ei run mobil-1--after my jdm swap i seafoamed the p10 and not even a puff of smoke came out

Just to make sure, after all the sea foam is sucked up do I turn off the engine
right away like it says and wait 10 minutes or can I just reconnect the
line and let the car idle? Thanks
yes that i sit.. i wouldent turn it off either.. i mean i wouldent want some liquid just sitting there.. cant that hydro lock your motor? that is why i wouldent turn it off.. but yes seafoam is great..
has anybody ever put it in there oil? also like stated before make sure you get some new spark plugs for that bad boy cause it might mess them up

Have not used it in my car yet,But I did put it in my boat gas tank and oil few hours before I changed the oil.The oil was crazy nasty when I dropped the oil plug out,im sure it cleaned out years of gunk.....Good stuff !!!

when u turn the car off it will break down the particle that are usually building carbon when u first turn the car off..
Going to Sea Foam my Egg this weekend. The Sr20 has 157K miles and I am sure that it will run a little better after a little black cloud of death Sea Foam experience! My buddy and I did a scientific experiment with the Sea Foam on his 230K mile Toyota a few years back. We ended up using 2 cans on that car, gas tank and vacuum line. We did a before and after dyno the same day as the treatment. Before the Sea Foam the Toyota 1.6 AE86 made 81 whp, after it made 89 whp! That is worth $10 and 15 mintues of your time!
Let us know how it works out..i have always been scared to use any additives in my cars. Is it best to do right before a oil change? Im getting ready to chang the se-r oil and was just wondering.

And, I don't mind at all being looked down upon by purists. Indeed I don't mind at all being looked down upon by those whom I do not look up to at all. -
I used a little bit and mixed it with Gold Eagle Complete Oil System Flush to flush my motor. I was afraid of using too much and cause problems. I've also poured it onto my gas tank.
Now I use Liqui Moly Valve cleaner and Fuel Injector Cleaner. Not both at same time, But months apart.

Will do. This is the only additive I have ever seen actual hard evidence that it works, and is worth adding to your car. Obviously the higher the mileage on the motor the better the potential gains of adding the Sea Foam. Not neccesary to change the oil, but if you are due for a change then go ahead.
