Do you guys plasi-gauge the bearings to make sure the clearance is in spec when re-assembling.
Just out of interest when I did this on a CVCC Honda years ago I measured the clearance then used the grade (colors in Honda's case) to tighten the bearings up to spec.
I sold the car with about 40,000 miles on it and saw the guy years later and it was pushing 150,000 miles with no further problems.

I'm about to do this to my motor since I'm waiting on bearings from GregV.

I have my own question for you guys. When I'm ready to permanently install the replacement rod bearings...do I apply lube between the bearing and rod/journal surfaces? Or do I keep that area clean/dry?
Can I use brake cleaner to clean those surfaces?
