rod bearing grade

is this correct? I searched, and found alot of posts that state you only need the crank numbers

yeah just check the rods out also one side will have matching numbers on one side which tell what rod number it is and the other side will have one number alone on the rod big end of the rod and tells the bearing grade for the rod and i believe you have to add the ones from the crank and the ones from the rods together. so if you find a 0 on all your rods then yes the bearing grade should be 1111 for all four. but you have to check the rod numbers too.
this is for a gti-r motor my crank has 1111, and I haven't found the rod numbers yet

no u need both, same thing goes with crank bearings,

just for your info to get the crank main bearings you also need the other number off the crank and a number thats REALLY hard to see sometimes off the block.

usually all the rod bearing grades end up being strait 1111 because the other numbers you'll find are 0000 just like the quote stated but they may not be which is why ya gotta check
