i have a 94 b13 and plan to swap in a SR. would a b14 tranny work in my b13? i imagine i would have to use the b14 axles. but is that it?

The early B14 transmissions are pretty much identical. They have a redesigned 5th gear that isn't as likely to develop popout, and it has an extra sensor on the front of the bellhousing that you don't need, but aside from that they are the same. Just be careful because the late B14 1998-1999 trannys are non-LSD.

Yes the b14 tranny will be fine, and you can use b13 or b14 axles as long as they are lsd and for an sr20 of course. Also, the b14 tranny will have an electronic speed sensor, so you will have to use one from a b13.

I thought the 94 b13's had the crank position sensor like the b14's?
