its a scary thing..7500rpm's in mid day traffic...having to dump it in 4th or 5th in order not to burn out the front meats.

ok well i reset the iacv and the tps and got it to idle down to 1400 with the iacv unplugged but when i plug it back up the idle goes back to about 2000-2100. the timing is at +5. I'll check the throttle cable but i can see that the throttle body is shutting all the way ***.

oh, and my idle screw is all the way in if that helps?

I think you mean 15 not 5, and if the idle screw is all the way in, IIRC that sets the idle as high as it can go? Check for cracks in the IACV. If you're not using all new vac lines, check for blockage in the smaller ones. There's an FSM procedure for diagnosing the IACV, I did it a year or so ago, nothing fancy required in the way of tools.

no its at 5 *** that was the only way it would run smooth unless i'm lookin at it backwards.

well now it wont even start. i've got spark and fuel but it wont fire up (not even with spraying starting fluid in the tb)? i'm reseting the ecu right now to see if that lets it start
