What cars are most similar in driving dynamics to B13 SE-R, B15 SE PP?

To those who have owned or still own these, what cars are close? I'm having no luck finding either car in the condition and color I'd buy. Five speed, two or four doors, awesomely rewarding to drive on a daily basis, great on gas, and under $6000. Hmmmm. Maybe not possible to find anymore. The Protege5 is ok, but the engine doesn't compare. Impreza 2.5 RS (99-01) sell in no time for stupid money. Ford Contour SE 5 speed V6's drove awesome, but are problem laden with age. And to make it harder, I don't do premium fuel anymore. Unless it only says it on the fuel door......(where I can remove that sticker)
I have money and when I do, I can never find these cars!! I'm married with two kids and work a full time job, so I don't have a day to drive or fly somewhere only to find the car isn't what someone says it is. I did that three times and bought cars that weren't what I was told. I guess if I had to I could pay for a Nissan dealer to check it over and let me know the true condition.
Any ideas?

I have a NX2000, and a similar car is a Mitsubishi Mirage, but the engine is far away (sohc, 113hp the better one) .

Maybe a RSX, my brother have one and is good car but kind of heavy... but with a k20 200hps, feels good.

Yes, I had a NX2000 once too. Awesome car, and I guess I would consider another one of those too. The handling stock was absolutely amazing back in those days. Still would be I guess.
I may just try to hold on to my money until the right car comes along. I'm sure that's what most folks do when trying to find a 20 year old car. That makes me feel really old saying it because I could have bought one brand new!!!
So I'm a little flexible with the 2 door versus 4 door thing. I have two kids and it's a real pain to let them out unless it's a smaller two door where I can reach it myself.
You might not believe it, but the early 95-97 or so Ford Contour V6 5 speeds drive frickin awesome too. Just don't have the modificability (my own word) factor the SR20 cars have.

Going to look at rare 95 Dodge Neon DOHC 5 speed with 105k on the body in nitro yellow green. It has a LKQ engine loosely installed but needs finishing, includes a 2.4 extra engine, and whatever parts I want off another 95 Neon coupe with the DOHC engine and rear disc brakes.
