Has anyone taken out their evaporator? How do you get it out and how much does it weigh? Also which fan is the one for the A/C? With that my A/C system will be completely removed!

I removed mine. It really isn't too bad to do. Disconnect the heater hoses at the firewall, remove the glovebox. To get the evap out, you take out the hole box. It's held in by like 5 10mm nuts or bolts can't remember. Once the nuts/bolts are removed the box come right out. Since some of the B13s came without a/c, you can get plugs from Nissan to cover the holes in the firewall.

The fan for the a/c is the one on the pass. side of the car.

you dont need to drain the coolant or remove any kind of coolant line to take the evaporator out...

i took mine out, along with the blower motor... both are very heavy actually

werd on that one.

also, the weight savings isnt that great with the EGR. Id say 5# max. but it just looks a whole lot neater in the engine bay. not to mention all the hoses that you get rid of.

would a side dump exhaust create a ground clearance issue while cornering on the track? i just think it would be cool to have for open track days and such

I just removed all the sound tar under the back seats, trunk, and wheel wells. I used dry ice wheich made it like a 5 min job. I put all the peices in a plastic bag and threw it on the scale, came to about 12 pounds.
