the fiberglass reinforced cutoff wheels work the best. hardly ever crack on anything like the cheap ones do.

NO. For some reason I think its better for that to be there.

Home Depot and Wal-Mart have the Dremmel brand at good prices.
Wal-Mart has a better deal on the cutting wheels.

Fiberglass reinforced wheels work the best. And they are the MOST expensive.

Any bracket not holding anything *REALLY HEAVY* can be replaced with ZIP TIES.
Example: WIRING HARNESS, FUSE BOX, HOSES IN ENGINE BAY........

maaan....this thread is extreme...but very informative...also, what about this option?

http://www.fatmat.com/liquids/index.htm

i'm thinking of taking out both tar and carpets then foam the chassis, and finally apply the liquid (since it is both waterproof and soundproof) or just use Dynamat (only soundproof, but looks like carpet)

the liquid does it all...I just don't know how much you gain back compared to what you lose by stripping everything else...has anyone considered this? It's so tempting for me to just go out and gut the hell out of my ride but the weather around my way just sucks!

...anyone got better options?

well it weighs 12.9lbs per gallon. so if you use a whole gallon of it.....although it is probably not as heavy when it dries, but then again, they may give the dried weight per gallon.

"another wieght reduction u can do is when u go drag racing go naked...shoes clothes maybe belt... ucan save at least 10 pounds!!!"

I don't know about where you race, but here in St. Louis, you have to wear pants. I'm not sure about a shirt rule, but I think they do have one. too bad.

One gallon is alot. I doubt you will need to use it all. I bet the weight of the amt you apply will be a very small percent of the weight of tar you remove.

I used expansion foam to calm down the noise in the cabin.
Just spray it wherever a roach might crawl. LOL.

This car is loud as hell. But not EAR SHATTERING. It sounds good, if you ask me.

I use 2 Dynomax Bulet mufflers. Its just a Cherry bomb style muffler with a perforated core.
Im about to switch to just one. Those things weigh a ton.
I have NO problems with it scraping at all.

hahaha...yo fig...u mind givin some pics to show where to spray the foam into? I'm in it for stiffening this wet noodle of a chassis...also, I heard that if you don't put any surface prep for the foam, with it being hygroscopic, rusting could be a problem...

..also, is it better to just use a brush or to spray the liner? any thoughts?

TIA

I used the spray stuff. I didnt use it to stiffen up the car but to control the noise.
It might rust.
