best weight reduction mod of all time:
fill a big effing baloon of helium and stick it in the back of the car. a baloon fitted to the interior filled with helium must be worth about 20 lbs

Unless my math is off (which it very well could be) you would lose 5lbs at the most with helium balloons.
Just cutting out your spare tire well would yield more weight loss.

The idea was for people who had already done everything and wanted just that little bit more.

The A/C system weighs 32 lbs??? I'm thinking about removing mine since it's not my daily driver anymore. I hope I don't regret it.

wow 31 pages spanning years of gutting. Very informative. Scared the wife when I started telling her about it.

Hi guys, I have a B-13 1991, I haven't weight the car yet just because I'm not donne taking stuf out and putting stuf in, so far I have takeing 22lbs of one door, all the interior is gone, all of the sound gunk is gone, little metal brakes are gonne, Now I'm looking at the A/C that some time next week, and alsow looking in to cut the extra metal in the trunk and hood, I did adda 170lbs rol cage , my goal is to make my car no more then 2000 lbs with all of the equipment I have to install.

Thank you.
And my 2032 was w/ a full cage so it is possible to get below 2000 lbs. Just not sure I'd want to gut it that much w/o a cage w/ door beams.

What did you take out to get down to 2032? I have a 1 3/4 " .95 wall cage all, around that weight 170 lbs.
