So I work in the car today.
SE-R trunk w/lights and wires = 32lbs
After I was donne no spoiler, wires after cutting some metal out down to 20lbs.

SE-R door = 72lbs
Note donne yet, I did cut some material , took the door beam out (wich is not a beam is double layer of sheet metal tack together and bent in a (waves ) shape), and I was able to take 21 Lbs off.
The hood will be next sunday .
Gus

Oh and BTW I did this during my most recent swap, but forgot to weigh it.

This thread is never really dead in my opinion. I keep coming back to read and get inspired. I'm aiming for a 1800 pound E model before dropping in a VE.

hehe so on the first post its not clear to me the weights of the side mirrors, power and manual, are the 4-sth lbs or 2-sth lbs. each?

I got rid of my power mirror switch and pigtail so I could put something else there, now I want to get rid of the power mirrors...can they be gutted of the motors or something?
Anybody put some ebay side mirrors on or can recommend sth else thats lighter than stock ones?

That stuff is nuts. I am going to be putting the SE-L on a diet, but I am keeping the stuff that makes the car nice to drive. I am getting rid of the AC, and am thinking of getting a manual steering rack. That stuff will free power and lighten the car.

Manual rack from what? I have been meaning to search around to see if a b13 manual rack can be used in the b14

A custom manual rack made out of kevlar and carbon fiber and titanium held together with pixie dust lol

This thread rules. And its scary. I have yet to rip out any interior bits, I kind of like the "it's still a CAR" feeling but...with 3 kids, only me oldest 2 ever get to ride in the B13 (which they love) but this car is no longer a DD by far,

I bought a MINIVAN.

I'm going for the hardest part first... Driver weight reduction...

3 months ago I weighted 357 lbs

Now I weight 304 lbs and dropping.

I will get into bypass surgery on these weeks.

Expect some pics soon. My goal is to reach 200 lbs (I'm gonna loose those 100lbs you will see)
