Yeah, it will have a cage. Then I can cut out even more. Right now, the only place that needs any added support is between the rear strut towers.

SmoothDaddyFig, Does your trunk leak with the bottom cut like that? Where do you have it pinned on at?

To be honest, I have no idea if it leaks or not. I never open it. Its useless. But theres no puddles of water or anything back there whenever I look.
You just need 2 pins to hold it in place.
I was going to do 4, but thats an overkill.
Theres no need for 4. The trunk will not budge with just 2 pins:

Oh yeah, DO NOT use STEEL Pins. I use APC Billet aluminum. They are feather-lite!!! The steel ones are really heavy!! Pep Boys and Discount AutoParts carry the APC brand.

do you guys try to lose weight as the driver? i hope i don't offend anyone, but just wondering it you guys consider that as part of weight reduction. after all, you do have to get in there to drive it

It will be my winter beater and it would be a ton of fun to have a few forum members over fior a few nites and go crazy...then make a custom cage for safety and chassis strengthenign/rigity. Im settign a goel right now for 1900lbs w/out driver! NON-T-TOP POWA!

I have taken 29 pounds out of each door so far. The impact beam is still there for now along with the stock door glass.
