yeah, those belts are heavay! i'm taking them off the doors to help relive some of the stress on the poor hinges... i'm going to the junkyard next week to fetch some NX seat belts and try bolting it to the pillars. i guess it also help distributes the weight about 0.72% more to the rear

Lost another 20lbs tonight. Carpet and center console are gone.

Question.. What do you guys think of stripping the air bag stuff. Im not scared to do it. Im a full time tech so that doesnt bother me. Would you guys do it? Have you done it? If I did it, id get a different steering wheel(should anyways). and try to get a passenger side bag cover to stick over the hole. I just dont want the air bag light on when State Inspection time comes. Im wondering if ditching the air bag controll unit behind the E-brake will disable the light, or if not just pull the bulb out of the cluster(been a while, does it have one?). Thanks for helping a GA16DE guy out!

no offense but loose the fogs...they add weight in the front of the car...im assuming you know how heavy they are since you put them on

that and IMO the car would just look better without them...i have no more fogs and personally i LOVE it.

I like his foglights.
Maybe if he pushed them in some more it would look better.

I think the thing behind the e-brake cable is just the tunnel sensor isn't it? Maybe that's just in B13's, with the airbag control unit being under the dash.

Oh no.... you guys are slammin on my lights. BTW they are not fogs. Makes my mad when people say they are fogs, DAMNIT!!! they are driving pattern. j/k LOL. IMO their function outweighs their form(lack of?). Do you guys know what its like to come up on a 1000lbs bull moose at night. Trust me you wanna see as far ahead of you as possible. Been there, done that, had to toss my boxers in the trash. LOL. I do agree they need to be pushed in. I just havent had the time to hack away at my facia. Been to busy. IIRC they are not that heavy, heck might as well put them on the scale just for fun.

On a B14 Im pretty sure its the control module thats on the tunnel behind the ebrake. At least thats what it says.

I removed all my air bag stuff...and I mean ALL of it...tore into the dash, got every bit of yellow wiring there was, all the sensors, EVERYTHING, and the LIGHT IS STILL ON>only way to disable is to remove bulb. It just seems like a real hassle to get the Instument panel out of an nx. Tips, anyone? All that crap and the steering wheel was probably 15 or so lbs.

Question---anyone know on an nx, if the carpet is ALL ONE PIECE? I might take mine out...the floormats would still make it look decent. Also, is there tar mat insulation crap under the FRONT carpet too??

Thanks for the air bag responces. Yet another Question... Who has removed the firewall insulation(does the B13 have it?)? Is it a pain in the butt to do. I was gonna do it last night, but I ran out of daylight. TIA

The firewall insulation is just a rubber blanket material with insulation stuck to it. The rubber on mine was all broken into pieces so all I had to do was grab pieces and pull on them. It was easy for me.

The only way to get all of it is to take the WHOLE dash apart. It goes all the way up to the windshield on B13's.

Totally understand man, Im sorry if I came across as being defensive. They may not be as bad as one would think. I guess no matter what I wont give em up. I just like them way too much. Thanks for the compliment. I still have a few more things to get rid of and some cleaning up to do, after that Ill probably be looking at lightweight seat and a Autopower race bar. Dang, Im gonna have to find some more weight to get rid of to offset the race bar. Do euro lights weigh less than stock?

Ok, i have another idea that is often(always) overlooked! Lose five pounds by removing all the little 10mm head bolts around the lower part of the front fenders and pulling it out a little--then hose awaY!! There was at least 2" deep, and 10" tall of mud in the fender I pulled off my wife's wrecked sentra E!!!

NOTE--some bolts you get to by opening the door all the way, and some are under the lower small piece of trim that is held on by 3 phillips screws!
